I have been meaning to blog this wedding since 2019, can you believe it?! Julia and Matt got married at the epic Penton Park in July 2019, and it was honestly one of my faaaaaavourite weddings to date. It was such a relaxed and emotion-filled day, and I had so much fun looking back through their gallery to choose my faves to put on this blog post. Penton Park has that lovely rustic vibe and huge big windows, and Julia & Matt’s choice of decor and florals tied in effortlessly with the setting – a true photographer’s dream. Enjoy feasting your eyes on their delightful day 🙂
2021 was a pretty crazy year for wedding photographers, seeing as 2020 had us on our arses wondering when we would actually be able to start shooting again (cheers covid and Boris). It was deeefinitely worth the wait of all the pushed back weddings, and being able to finally shoot some long awaited celebrations made them that much more special. After having about an 18 month break from shooting full day weddings, I was a bit nervous about how it would all feel again, but I think it’s just one of those things like riding a bike – you just pick up exactly where you left off, and I ended up falling in love with weddings all over again.
And thank you to all my amazing couples and wonderful vendors that I had the pleasure of working with last year!
I can’t believe my last ‘top 100’ post was 2018… so here’s my top fave 100 images from 2021.
Here’s one of my faaaavourite weddings to date – Alice & Rob’s casual wedding at Oaks Farm in Croydon, London in 2018.
The day started with bridal preparations at Alice’s parent’s home with all her friends and family (and 2 gorrrgeous kitties!), before we headed to Oaks Farm for the ceremony and reception. Oaks Farm was the perfect venue – a rustic and cosy barn surrounded by hills and countryside – it totally made you forget you’re even in London at all.
For a late September wedding, we had the best possible weather – glorious sunshine and those warm temperatures where you can relax outside all day and not be dripping in sweat. The lush grounds of Oaks Farm meant we could get some epic couple shots, and we even got the smoke bombs out as the sun went down! (*I died of happiness a bit*).
It was one of those 10/10 fun-filled weddings where you just don’t want to go home!
